How to Cook Chicken Chow Mien
Cooking chicken chow mien is a pretty easy process. You can either use a skillet or a wok if you have one. You want to begin with melting about cup butter or margarine to saut your vegetables with. There are many different vegetables you can use in chow mien. Celery, onions, mushrooms, baby corn, green bean or Chinese vegetables such as water chestnuts and bean sprouts. When using bean sprouts you don’t want to add them at the same time as your other vegetables though because they don’t take as long to cook. You might want to add about teaspoon of garlic powder for seasoning. Add 2 cups chicken broth and 2 teaspoons of soy sauce to your skillet and continue to heat. This is when you add the bean sprouts. After all the vegetables are fully cooked add a mixture of 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 1/3 cup of cold water. This is going to cause the sauce to thicken a little bit. Add 3 cups of cubed chicken that is already cooked. That is all you have to do.
